The primary law enforcement responsibilities of the Police Bureau are the road patrol and criminal investigations. The bureau also provides support functions and specialized police activities in other areas including the county parks, at the Greater Rochester International Airport, and on area waterways.

Within three years, the MCSO will be "One Team" of diverse professionals empowered and collaborating internally and externally to accomplish our mission.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
The Community Services Unit offers crime prevention and safety education presentations and displays to thousands of men, women, and children in Monroe County each year. Originally formed in 1947 as the Safety Education Division, the unit has grown both in manpower and scope of activities over the years.

Zone A - 955 S. Panorama Trl., Rochester, NY 14625 - Includes the townships of Fairport, Irondequoit, Penfield, Perinton, Pittsford, and Webster.
Zone B - 393 Calkins Rd, Rochester, NY 14623 - Includes the townships of Brighton, Henrietta, Honeoye Falls, Mendon, Rush, Scottsville, and Wheatland.
Zone C - 2330 Union Street, Spencerport, NY 14559 - Includes the townships of Brockport, Chili, Churchville, Clarkson, Gates, Greece, Hamlin, Hilton, Ogden, Parma, Riga, Spencerport, and Sweden.
