On March 2, 2025, at 7:58 p.m., Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Target at 2325 Marketplace Drive in the Town of Henrietta for a larceny in progress. Two individuals filled a shopping cart with merchandise and left the store without rendering payment. An employee grabbed the cart in an attempt to stop the theft. One individual forcibly removed the shopping cart from the employee's grasp while the other shoved the employee against a wall. The suspects entered a waiting black SUV occupied by a third suspect and tried to leave the area. Deputies located the suspects who refused to pull over, leading them into the City of Rochester. During the pursuit, one suspect exited the vehicle on Lyell Avenue in the area of Broad Street and was promptly taken into custody with the help of the Rochester Police Department. A second suspect fled from the vehicle in the area of Dewey Avenue and Emerson Street and is still outstanding. The driver was taken into custody on Alameda Street. The stolen merchandise, valued at approximately $2,000, was recovered from the vehicle.

Clem J. Long Jr., 22, of Rochester is charged with:

  • Robbery in the Second Degree (Class C-Felony)
  • Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree (Class E-Felony)
  • Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer (Class A-Misdemeanor)
  • Aggravated Unlicensed Operation Third Degree (Class U-Misdemeanor)

Lavell E. Harris, 40, of Rochester is charged with:

  • Robbery in the Second Degree (Class C-Felony)
  • Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree (Class E-Felony)
  • Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer (Class A-Misdemeanor)

Long and Harris were arraigned in Henrietta Town Court. Long was remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $5,000 cash bail, or $10,000 bond. Harris was released to pretrial services. 

MCSO is attempting to locate the suspect who fled.
