Sweden, NY (December 21, 2021) – On 12/17/21, at approximately 11:00 AM, a suspect entered a vehicle in the parking lot of Runnings located at 4828 Lake Road South, Town of Sweden. The vehicle was owned by a Runnings employee and the thefts were noticed at the end of the employee’s shift. The suspect stole multiple items from the vehicle including a wallet containing credit cards. It was later learned that the suspect entered Runnings and used the stolen credit card to purchase more than $1,100 worth of merchandise. The suspect then left the area in a silver vehicle.

At approximately 2 PM, MCSO learned the above vehicle was located at the University of Rochester. U of R Public Safety detained a suspect after he was caught going through cars on University of Rochester property. It was determined that the suspect vehicle was reported stolen out of the Town of Gates. Several stolen items were located inside of the vehicle and on the suspect. MCSO charged Richard Robson, 35, Henrietta with 2 counts of Grand Larceny 4th (Class-E Felony). Robson was arraigned in Sweden Town Court and remanded to MCJ on $5,000 cash bail due to having 10 current open cases, multiple failures to appear in court and two outstanding MCSO warrants. Excellent job by all involved, working together and sharing information to bring this crime spree to a conclusion.
