Rochester, NY (August 11, 2021) – On 6/25/21 at 6:45 PM, MCSO deputies responded to the area of Pittsford Plaza on Monroe Ave, Pittsford for the reported robbery. The suspect approached the victim near the Barnes and Nobles and stole the victim’s purse off of her shoulder. The suspect then began using the victim’s key fob to locate her vehicle in the parking lot. The victim chased after the suspect and the suspect fled on foot towards Monroe Ave.

A short time later, the same suspect approached a vehicle that was stopped at a red light waiting to turn onto Monroe Ave. The suspect opened the passenger side door of the 2nd victim’s vehicle and pushed the driver out of the vehicle. The suspect fled in the stolen vehicle which is a 2014 Honda CRV and was last seen heading towards the city.

UPDATE ON INCIDENT

MCSO announces that we have made an arrest in this incident. MCSO Major Crimes Unit Investigators have continued this investigation from the day it happened and with the assistance of the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, presented a case to the Grand Jury. The Grand Jury indicted Andrey Ogonovskiy, 25, Rochester on the following charges: two counts of Robbery 2nd degree (Class- C Felony), one count of Assault 2 nd degree (Class- D Felony) and one count of Grand Larceny 4th (Class- E Felony). Ogonovskiy is currently in custody at the Monroe County Jail. Excellent work by the initial responding deputies and the investigators who brought this incident to a close.

Ogonovskiy was arrested by the Webster Police Department on June 29, 2021 for a similar crime that occurred on June 21, 2021 and has been in the Monroe County Jail since June 29.
