On April 5th, 2022 between 8:30 a.m. – 8:45 a.m., in a span of just 15 minutes, a male attempted to gain access to three different motor vehicles. In each instance, the man was unsuccessful. One of the instances occurred in the parking lot of 6600 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Perinton. The man approached a female sitting in her car. He told her that he needed money and a ride to the airport. She exited the car on her own, but did not give him money. While she was out of the car, the man stole her cell phone from the pocket of the coat she was wearing. He then attempted to get into the car, but the doors were locked. When he could not gain access to the car, the male left the area on foot. Deputies located the individual and took him into custody without incident. No one was injured during this incident. MCSO made the following arrest:

Maurice J. Brown, 26, Lyons, Wayne County

  • Robbery in the 3rd Degree (Class D-Felony)

Mr. Brown was arraigned in Perinton Town Court. Due to this being a non-bail qualifying offence, he was released on his own recognizance.
