Henrietta / 720 Jefferson Road (Five Below)

On 12/24/22, a manager at Five Below reports a man and woman concealed $190 worth of merchandise on their person and left the store without paying. The suspects left the area in a red sedan. A short time later, the female suspect returned to Five Below, because she left her cell phone at the store. Deputies arrived and located both suspects in a red Chrysler 300. The suspects are identified as Louis Smith, 29, of Rochester and Jasmine C. Ofray, 36, of Rochester. While talking with the suspects, deputies observed a .25 caliber pistol on the front passenger seat of the vehicle. Neither suspect possesses a NYS pistol permit.

Mr. Smith and Ms. Ofray are charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class C-Felony)
  • Petit Larceny (Class A-Misdemeanor)

Both were arraigned in Henrietta Town Court. Smith was remanded to Monroe County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash, $25,000 bond or $50,000 partially secured bond. Ofray was released on her own recognizance.

 

Sweden / 4828 Lake Road (Runnings)

On 12/26/22 at about 7:20 in the evening, an employee at Runnings reports a man selected numerous pairs of boots and other clothing items before exiting the store without making any attempt to pay. He was last seen wearing blue pants and a camouflage jacket. Deputies spotted the man walking into Big Lots just down the road from Runnings. The suspect was located hiding in the bathroom and identified as Philip M. Lenhart 29, of Rochester.

Mr. Lenhart was arrested and charged with:

  • Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree (Class E-Felony)

He was arraigned in Sweden Town Court and remanded to Monroe County Jail in lieu of $2000 cash, $4000 bond, or $18,000 partially secured bond. Lenhart also had an outstanding warrant for Petit Larceny with the Rochester Police Department.

 

Penfield / 1902 Empire Boulevard (Burlington)

On 12/23/22 just after noon, Asset Protection for Burlington reports a man filled a shopping cart with clothing and assorted merchandise and left the store without paying. He drove away in a silver sedan. A deputy saw the vehicle leaving the location and pulled it over. The stolen merchandise was on the front seat in plain view. The man was arrested and identified as James S. Love, 47, of Rochester.

Mr. Love is charged with:

  • Petit Larceny (Class A-Misdemeanor)

He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Penfield Town Court and released.
