On December 6, 2023, at 9:39 in the morning, a concerned parent came to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office A-Zone substation to report the abuse of his six-year-old child at the hands of the home health care nurse. The child has various health issues that require 24/7 care. The family hired Nicole Guilds, a registered nurse, to help care for the child. After growing concerns over Ms. Guilds’ treatment of the child, the family members reviewed surveillance video in the home and were disturbed by what they saw. On at least five different occasions in a one-month period, the video shows Guilds physically and verbally abusing the child.

On 12/13/2023, investigators arrested Nicole M. Guilds, 30, of Webster and charged her with:

  • Endangering the Welfare of an Incompetent or Physically Disabled Person in the Second Degree (Class E-Felony)
  • Harassment in the Second Degree (Violation)

Ms. Guilds was arraigned in Penfield Town Court, where she was issued a stay away order of protection on behalf of the family and Released on her Own Recognizance per New York State Law.

Nicole Guilds has worked with several other special needs children. If you or someone you know has a child whom you believe may be a victim, please call 911.
