Pittsford, NY (January 23, 2023) - The Monroe County Sheriff's Office arrested a wanted repeat offender Friday (01.20.23) for robbing a Pittsford jewelry store and brandishing a weapon in the parking lot before fleeing in a stolen car on January 16th.

On January 16, 2023 just before 2:00 in the afternoon, deputies responded to The Source Fine Jewelers, located at 3300 Monroe Ave., Pittsford, for the report of a gunpoint robbery. Employees stated the suspect asked to see some jewelry, took off with the merchandise, and ran into the parking lot. An employee followed the suspect outside where he brandished a firearm. The suspect then fled the scene in a stolen 2018 Hyundai Elantra.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit began investigating and quickly identified Zeaquan Walker as the suspect. A vehicle matching the description of the vehicle that was used in the robbery was recovered un-occupied in Greece. Investigators learned Walker had been arrested by the Rochester Police Department earlier that same day following a short pursuit for being in possession of a different stolen vehicle. He was released on an appearance ticket.

Zeaquan Walker is charged with:

  • Robbery in the 1st degree (Class B-Felony)
  • Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree (Class D-Felony)

Mr. Walker was arraigned in Pittsford Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $15,000 cash, $30,000 bond, $45,000 partially secured bond.

At the time of his arrest, Walker had seven additional open felony cases, for which he was out of custody on non-monetary conditions. These additional cases are from multiple jurisdictions throughout Monroe County and date as far back as February 2022. Walker also had a pending felony case in Ontario County.
